“When Machine Intelligence Goes Boom”

The second illustration I created for Pomp & Circumstance magazine, this one for their 4th issue. George Kokkinidis of Design Language designs the magazine, and has been asking me to do some designs for the last two issues.
The article was titled “When Machine Intelligence Goes Boom” and was about the increasing about that technology has been being integrated into our everyday lives.
George suggested I create an illustration of various robots on a grid. I tried to imagine robots that would serve functions in our everyday lives to create their look. I was also probably heavily influenced by WALL•E, Star Wars, Transformers, and the Z-Bots toys. One robot is modeled on my printer, imagined mid-transformation!
